Document Description
The City of Fresno proposes to develop a new Enterprise Zone (EZ). The current EZ expired in October 2006. The program is a long-term (15-year) partnership between local governments and private companies to generate new private section investment and growth. The state provides performance-based tax credits and incentives to businesses located within the proposed EZ which consists of the following: hiring credits; sales and use tax credits; deduction for lenders; deduction on qualified equipment; and net operating loss carry forward. The City of Fresno is creating a geographic location that will allow businesses within the proposed area to take advantage of the state tax credits in order to stimulate economic growth.
