Document Description
The project involves the temporary installation of 3 modular office buildings. Two of the buildings will be placed at the edge of the rear parking lot of the CDF Academy while the 3rd building would be put next to the Administration building in an area that is currently lawn. There will be no grading or foundations as the sites are already flat and the temporary buildings will be on piers. Minor trenching (50 ft. long x 2-3 feet deep x 4 inches wide) will be needed for the two buildings in the rear parking lot to hook up utilities. The trench will be across an existing gravel parking area which was created many years ago by substantial cut and fill construction, thus no "native" soil will be trenched. All utilities for the building on the grass area will be above ground connections.

Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15303
Reasons for Exemption
The proposed buildings are temporary and will not be on foundations and will not require site grading. Both of the sites for the buildings have been developed for many years. The first site is an existing gravel parking lot and the second site is a grass landscape area. The minimal trenching that will occur at the parking lot site will be in cut and fill soil, meaning no disturbance of "native soil" will occur. There are no known archaeological sites. There is no plant or animal habitat or species associated with these sites. These buildings will be temporary and will not add to the minimal cumulative impacts which already occur at the CDF Academy site.
