Reasons for Exemption
The proposed drilling of piezometers (monitoring wells) on existing disturbed sites and subsequent ground water depth and quality monitoring has no potential to cause significant adverse effects on the environment and will allow monitoring of essential ground water information for management of the Chino Basin. The exceptions to the issuance of categorical exemptions have been evaluated for the proposed monitoring wells. The proposed installation and operation of the nested piezometers has been determined not to have a potential to cause significant adverse environmental effects as a result of any of the exceptions.
