Southern California Edison and Public Utilities proposes to construct and operate the Riverside Transmission Reliability Project. The city of Riverside prepared an EIR for the project and approved the project in 2013. SCE modified the project to change the route of the proposed double-circuit 230-kV transmission line alignment and existing distribution lines in two locations. The subsequent EIR analyzes the environmental impacts of the project modifications, which include 0.25 mile of overhead transmission line, 2 miles of underground transmission line, undergrounding existing overhead distribution line in two locations, and a material storage/marshalling yard. The project modifications are located within the county of Riverside, city of Jurupa, and city of Riverside.
