The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project applicant. Caltrans proposes to widen the bridge at Salt Slough (Br No 39-0209) by adding one 18-inch diameter column to each side, or each of the existing three bents, which currently have four 12-inch diameter concrete pile extensions. The bridge width will be increased from 30 feet to about 43 feet. At the San Joaquin River, the existing 15 span slab bridge (Br No 39-0211) will be completely removed and a new Bridge (Br No 39-0246) will be installed. The number of bents will be reduced from 14 to 3. The width will increase from 30 feet to 43 feet and the length of the new bridge will be about 412 feet long. At the San Joaquin River Overflow the Bridge (Br No 39-0212) is being widened by adding one 18-inch diameter column to each side of the existing bent, which currently has four 12-inch diameter concrete pile extensions.
