The project would overlay the roadway with new asphalt concrete, replace the San Joaquin River Bridge, widen the San Joaquin River Overflow and Salt Slough Bridges, and realign Santa Fe Grade Road and Wolfsen Road where they intersect with State Route 165. Work would be limited to the right-of-way except where Santa Fe Grade Road and Wolfsen Road would be realigned.
