Document Description
The project is the Regents acceptance of a gift of an existing building and property at 729 Tennessee Street, San Francisco, on behalf of the San Francisco campus of the University of California (UCSF). The building would be renovated for operation of the Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Programs ("Children's Center"). The 36,000 gsf Children's Center would provide interview and group therapy rooms, observation/child play rooms, conference/seminar rooms, and offices. The program would be jointly operated by the psychiatry faculty from San Francisco General Hospital and UCSF's Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute. Subsequent to the donor's purchase of the property, the Regents would lease it from the donor to facilitate the entitlement of the project and to allow the orderly completion of the tenant improvements by the donor.

Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Other
Type, Section or Code
General Section 15061(b)(3)
Reasons for Exemption
In accordance with CEQA Guidelines, acceptance of a gift of an existing building and property by The Regents with no substantial change or expansion of the existing use on the parcels would not cause a direct physical change or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. The gift has been determined to be exempt from CEQA review because no physical changes will be made as a result of accepting the gift and no options for use of the Property are foreclosed by The Regents acceptance of the gift. Once enough details are proposed to enable analysis of the lease, renovation and occupancy of the facility, UCSF will prepare a CEQA analysis and present it to the appropriate University decision maker for approval.
