Document Description
Note FYI Final Pilarcitos Quarry is an ongoing mining operation that mines granitic rock for use as construction aggregate, including fill material, asphaltic concrete, landscape materials, and various grades of sand, drain rock, and road base. Quarrying and processing currently directly affect 53.31 acres in the southern portion of the 588-acre property. The Project includes approval of a proposed Mining and Reclamation Plan covering the reclamation of the current mining area, the mining and reclamation of the proposed mining expansion areas, and the development of several temporary and permanent water reservoirs within the mining pits. The proposed Mining and Reclamation Plan covers a time span of approximately 100 years, under which current mining operations would be expanded to include an additional 117 acres in the southern portion of the property. The Mining and Reclamation Plan includes specifications for reclaiming all disturbed areas after completion of mining, such that the land is returned to a condition suitable for intended future use as open space and water storage.
