Document Description
The Project provides mitigation for the expansion of Pilarcitos Quarry operations in San Mateo County by constructing two ponds and enhancing and expanding an existing sediment pond. This will provide suitable breeding, hydration and foraging aquatic habitat for the California red-legged frog. Two ponds will be constructed where the northeastern most tributary of Nuff Creek enters the flood plain of Nuff Creek and about 400 feet downstream on the flood plain and east of the creek. The largest constructed pond designed as a pool swale complex, will be located in a relative flat area on the west of Nuff Creek. The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement, Number 1600-2011-0300-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Permittee, West Coast Aggregates, Inc. as represented by Richard DeAtley.
