Document Description
The project applicant, West Coast Aggregates, Inc., proposes a long-term expansion of the existing Pilarcitos Quarry. The project applicant has requested the necessary entitlements from the County of San Mateo to enable expansion of the quarry and to ensure mining reserves within the proposed expansion areas of the quarry property would be conserved and protected. This will include approval of a proposed master plan for mining and reclamation over the next 75 years, under which approximately 256 acres of the approximate 593-acre property will be disturbed. The master plan includes a detailed mining and reclamation plan for an initial 7.36-acre expansion area located adjacent to, and north of, the existing permitted quarry area.
