Document Description
Construction of Phases I through III of the previously approved Boardman Canal and Gold Run Pipeline Improvement Project (State Clearinghouse No. 2006112090) have been completed. The proposed project consists of revisions to the Phase IV improvements, which would occur upstream and downstream of completed Phases I through III. CEQA review of Phase IV improvements was originally included in the Boardman Canal and Gold Run Pipeline Improvement Project's Initial Study/MND. However, since the 2006 IS/MND was completed, Phase IV has been revised and is discussed in this IS/MND. The Draft Subsequent MND analyzes the potential significant effects related to the following project changes/additions:
- Relocation of the proposed alignment of the upstream portion of Phase IV from the north side of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks to the south side;
- Retaining walls to prevention erosion on steep grades;
- Incorporation of a hydroelectric power turbine into the existing system.
