Document Description
The project is a part of a 65-acre housing development project which includes a 26-acre housing development footprint, and the establishment of a 27-acre conservation easement open space habitat area and a 11.2-acre private open space habitat area. The project entails filling and stabilizing approximately 2.25 acres of the eroded gullies and restoring them to native grassland, coastal scrub and riparian plant communities. The upper portion of the erosion rill will be backfilled and the fill will be compacted into a keyway located within the erosion scar. The soil will be placed on the keyway and benches stepping up the hillside and 4-foot deep subdrains will be installed at the back of the benches. These bench drains will connect to a central collector subdrain for discharge at the base of the repaired slope. An energy dissipater constructed with 6-inch rock rip-rap will be installed at the base of the repair. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2014-0332-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Sonora Shores III, LLC.
