Reasons for Exemption
The project will install one temporary modified Spittler crossing at three different locations along Coffee Creek. The crossings are needed to access downed white fir and Douglas fir that will not be merchantable after the upcoming winter. The crossings shall use only clean rock fill and exposed surface areas shall be stabilized. In order to create fish habitat, the operator will leave one piece of in channel large wood for every ten pieces removed as a result of the project. There will be no removal of healthy, mature, or scenic trees as a result of this project. The project will have no significant impact on the environment.
