Document Description
The proposed project is the re-designation of the Enterprise Zone for another 15 years and modification of the currently existing boundaries. Proposed modifications of the boundaries would eliminate 1,568 acres that were included within the previously approved Enterprise Zone and would add no additional acres, for a new reduction of 1,568 acres yielding a total of 6,400 acres within the Enterprise Zone. The general purpose for creating an Enterprise Zone is to provide incentives for economic development that is considered a benefit to the local communities and to the state as a whole. No specific new development construction is proposed as part of this project and it is not anticipated that new construction would occur that is not already anticipated and planned by the City. All of the proposed Enterprise Zone is within the urban envelope of the City of San Jose, the lands are all designated for urban uses by the City's General Plan, are zoned for urban uses, and are served by public service facilities and utilities.
