Based on the results on an Initial Study, Caltrans proposes implementation of Alternative A1 (modified East Alternative). The project would replace the Antlers Bridge on the Sacramento River Arm of Shasta Lake and realign a 0.42 mile section of I-5 to improve safety. The new bridge would include two northbound and three southbound lanes, 12 feet in width, with 10 foot wide shoulders. The number three southbound lane would extend an existing truck-climbing lane from the south end of the new bridge northerly to the Union Pacific Railroad Overhead.
