Document Description
The proposed project involves the removal of methane-impacted soil from the school site within Unit 5 of the Pacific Highlands Ranch (Subarea III) Subarea Plan in the North City Future Urbanizing Area (NCFUA) of San Diego, CA. In order to remediate the methane caused by organic material within the fill on the school site, the applicant proposes to remove the methane-impacted fill (approximately 95,000CY), setting aside the top five feet (approximately 20,000CY) for reuse, then using approximately 72,000CY of tested and approved fill from a borrow site in Unit 8 to re-fill the school site. The top five feet of clean dirt would then be replaced. This document is intended to fulfill the CEQA requirements for the DTSC approval of the proposed grading activities required to accomplish the methane-impacted soil remediation and does not address construction of the school itself.
