Document Description
DFG is intending to execute a Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code (SAA # 1600-2009-0331-R5) to the project applicant, Orange County Public Works. The applicant proposes to construct dual rows of sheet piles to replace the existing levees from 2,100 feet downstream of Graham Street to Warner Ave on the south levee and from Graham Street to Warner Avenue on the north levee. The earthen side slopes will be excavated back to the sheet piles to provide for 100-year storm water conveyance capacity. Slater Bridge will also be removed, and the existing south side levee will be fortified with an earthen buttress and backside sheet pile toe protection to protect the levee from tidal erosion. A park trail and ADA access ramp will be created on the new earthen buttress, and existing rip rap slopes ( from tide gates to Oil Road bridge on the north side and from the tide gates to Bates Circe on the south side) will be repaired as needed. Notched retaining walls will be added to the Warner and Graham Street Bridges to accomodate sewer lines and other utilities.
