Document Description
Culvert crossing upgrade. The existing crossing has two 48-inch culverts which have been plugging. This project will replace these during low or no flow with a 12-foot diameter culvert, set below grade. The project will also install an off-channel waterhole on the northeast side of the crossing, and an emergency road and ford.

Reasons for Exemption
The project will replace a failing culvert crossing with an adequately sized culvert that will pass flood flows, in the South Fork Bear Creek in Shasta County. Resident rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) are not present onsite, but are present approximately 1/4 mile downstream. The South Fork Bear Creek is a non-anadromous stream. The project will not have a significant effect on the environment.
