Document Description
Minor adjustments to existing irrigation system installed in 1999 by relocation of irrigation line and several sprinkler heads in the day-use area for improved irrigation coverage of turf, vegetation and prevention of water damage to facilities. Excavate 4 inches wide by 12 inches deep by 140 feet length for installation of 1 1/4 inch irrigation line and sand layer for line protection. The site will be surveyed and a subsurface investigation conducted prior to construction by a Department of Parks and Recreation qualified archaeologist to determine the presence or absence of undocumented subsurface archaeological deposits or historic features. In the event that significant cultural resources are found in the project location prior to construction, the project will be reevaluated for potential redesign. During construction work, a qualified historian and/or archaeologist will monitor all subsurface work including trenching, grading, and excavations in the area to ensure avoidance of significant impacts to cultural resources. Sprinkler head placement will avoid spraying water within the drip line of mature planted trees.
