Document Description
This proposed project involves replacing the existing Orwood Road Bridge located along Orwood Road over Werner Dredger Cut in Contra Costa County. The project will widen the existing 25foot-wide bridge to meet current American Associated of State Highway and Transportation Officials standards. The new bridge will 220 feet long and 42 to 44 feet wide. The Project will result in impacts to 0.005 acres of Longfin Smelt (Spirinchus thaleichthys), Delta Smelt (Hypomesus transpacificus), Spring-run Chinook Salmon (Oncorynchus tshawytscha), and Winter-run Chinook Salmon (O.tshawytscha) habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of Longfin Smelt and Spring-run Chinook Salmon which are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The project is expected to result in incidental take of Delta Smelt and Winter-run Chinook Salmon which are designated as an endangered species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
