Present Land Use
Existing land uses along Pacific Coast Highway include mixed retail commercial, tourist commercial and recreation (Doheny State Beach Park).
Document Description
The City of Dana Point is proposing to widen Pacific Coast Highway between Crystal Lantern and the San Juan Creek Bridge within the existing roadway right-of-way to accommodate an additional travel lane in each direction. The City is also proposing to construct a new pedestrian accessway into Doheny State Beach Park extending from Pacific Coast Highway east of Doheny Park Plaza. Other improvements include the construction of a new historic wall and fence, which will replace the damaged fence located along the Doheny State Beach Park property line on PCH. A pedestrian accessway will also be constructed over Pacific Coast Highway east of the Del Obispo Street/Pacific Coast Highway intersection. Implementation of the proposed project will encroach into State Department of Parks and Recreation. In addition to the easement, project approval will necessitate the approval of Coastal Development Permits (CDPs) by the City of Dana Point and California Coastal Commission.
