Document Description
The project area is approximately 1,250 linear feet of the east bank of Lower Penitencia Creek channel where it has experienced extensive erosion, which has undermined the existing sidewalk and some infrastructure along Abel Street. The City of Milpitas is proposing to repair the channel by stepping the bank and adding a clean soil/rock mixture (clayey soil with 15% Class 2 aggregate base) to the slope to rebuild it to its original dimensions and cross section. Most of the excavation, placement, compaction and reconstruction will be accomplished using suitable equipment to enable construction from the roadway above the channel. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2006-0312-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
