Document Description
Caltrans proposes to remove slide material from a failing cut slope on Highway 50 in El Dorado County and reinforce the slope with polypropylene geo-grid, and apply erosion control including native vegetation and tree replacement. Construction is scheduled for Fall 2006 to improve slope to prevent major slide during next winter season. Temporary construction easement required from El Dorado National Forest.

This entire project footprint within the disturbed area of the 1997 repair slope from storm damage project EA 03-448201 (a portion of location #40). The entire project is located within the roadway structure or roadway prism, and does not infringe upon any more El Dorado Forest Service land than in 1997. Project will repair storm damage to the cut slope to stabilize it, to prevent a larger landslide next winter season.
