Reasons for Exemption
Our specific request is to site a relocatable, 960 gsf, adjacent to the fire lane leading to the library for the housing of the CMA archives displaced by the demolition of the warehouse. We will reuse the Master Plan (MP) #08 as a designation. This function (archive) is slated to move into the student support building (MP #58) upon completion of the secondary effect of the physical education - pool project slated for the 2010-11 project year.
The second relocatable will be abutted to the Trades shop modular (MP 48) in the corporation yard. This will add 960 gsf to the building and will serve the administrative function of Facilities Management displace with the demolition of the Plant Operations building and be incorporated within the 2,940 gsf making it a total footprint of 3,900 gsf. The steel building (MP #59), 1,600 gsf will house the storage of records and supplies temporarily for the campus that can not be handled at the departmental level. This is not in an environmentally sensitive area and therefore meets the criteria for this class.
