- Document Description
- The project is limited to the installation of a water level recorder at one of two sites within a pool on Soquel Creek. The preferred site is adjacent to the Santa Cruz County Waste Water pumping facility on Bay Avenue in the City of Capitola. The east bank of the stream at this location contains a steep, upstream facing sandstone cliff onto which a 2" diameter steel pipe would be secured. The pipe would extend approximately 10' down to the water surface and 2' below the water surface. The bottom of 2" diameter pipe will be open. At the top of the pipe a 12"x12"x10" steel junction box will be attached to the cliff surface. The steel box will contain a press equalizer, allow access to the water level sensor and provide an electrical connection from the water level sensor and provide an electrical connection from the water level sensor to the data logger. An electrical conduit will be buried in the existing foot path on the channel bank and extended to the east side of the waste water pumping facility where it will be connected to an existing data logger. The steel conduit, steel box and buried electrical conduit are necessary to prevent vandalism of the equipment.
