Document Description
The Elverta Road widening project includes the following: Widen Elverta Road to accommodate a total of four (4) traffic lanes, two (2) lanes in each direction using rubberized asphalt for noise reduction. Restripe Elverta Road from Dutch Haven Boulevard to approximately 300 feet east of Rivergreen Drive. Install a fully landscaped, raised center median. Install six-foot wide Class II bike lanes and improvements for ADA compliance. Construct new roadside ditches and driveway culverts the north and south sides of Elverta Road. Modify traffic signals at the intersection of Elverta Road and 28th Street. Construct headwall/retaining walls as necessary. Remove the existing two-lane Elverta Bridge at Dry Creek. Construct a new six-lane reinforced concrete bridge with bicycle and pedestrian facilities above the 100-year flood elevation. Although the roadway will only be widened to four lanes, the bridge will be constructed to its ultimate six-lane width, consistent with the General Plan. Bridge Number assigned by Caltrans is 24C0361. Modify the profile of 28th Street near Elverta Road to conform to the new profile of Elverta Road. Replace two pipe culverts east of 28th Street with a 34-foot single span concrete bridge of equivalent double box culvert.
