Various generator components of DWR's Thermalito Power Plan will be blast-cleaned and recoated. All cleaning and recoating will be carried out inside a temporary paint booth within the DWR facility. This maintenance is necessary for long-term corrosion prevention of generator components.

Reasons for Exemption
This project consists of the maintenance of an existing State-owned facility. No expansion of use will occur through this project. No environmental impacts are anticipated as a result of this project. Since all blasting and recoating activities are to take place within a self-contained temporary paint booth that contains air filtration measures, fugitive dust and volatile organic compounds will not be released at levels which exceed permissible limits established by Regional Air Quality Control Board standards. Coordination with the local air board will ensure compliance with regulatory standards. In addition, no impacts to vegetation or animal spacies will occur as none exist within the project site.
