Reasons for Exemption
Section 15301(c) of CEQA consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. Section (c) of 15301 allows for existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails and similar facilities (this includes road grading for the purpose of public safety). The proposed project is for the installation of new concrete at various designated locations for ADA compliant sidewalk ramps within the City of Fort Bragg. Some areas will require removal of existing sidewalk and compaction of subgrade. The proposed improvements will have no impact on the vehicular capacity or function of the existing right-of-way and will meet all required design standards.
