Document Description
PG&E, which operates the Crane Valley Hydroelectric Project, has applied for water quality certification pursuant to section 401 of the Clean Water Act. (33 U.S.C. § 1341). The proposed project is to modify Manzanita Dam by enlarging an instream valve; removing flashboards in one spillway and replacing them with a new weir gate. The modifications are necessary for PG&E to make new required minimum flow releases to the North Fork of Willow Creek pursuant to a new Federal Energy Regulatory Commission license (No. 1354) issued for the Crane Valley Hydroelectric Project.

The Crane Valley Hydroelectric Project is an existing federally licensed project publicly-owned utility (PG&E) used to provide electric power. 3. The project will not result in any impacts to listed threatened or endangered species. 4. This project will not cause significant adverse impacts on any sensitive environment and will not result in significant cumulative impacts. 5. The project will not impact the beneficial uses of the North Fork of Willow Creek.
