Present Land Use
The proposed project site is located on Daggett Road north of its intersection with SR-4 and ending approximately 1,200 feet south of Burns Cutoff. Land uses in the immediate project area include a City of Stockton wastewater treatment/facility to the east, and general agriculture to the west. The Burlington, Northern and Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad crosses Daggett Road approximately 0.5 miles north of SR-4. There are no residences within the project are that use Daggett Road to access SR-4, and only two residences exist within 0.5 miles of the project area. The land surrounding the project site is zoned for agriculture to the west and south and as Public Lands to the east and north.
Document Description
The proposed project would widen Daggett Road pavement to approximately 25 feet to provide one lane of travel in each direction and to create 4-foot wide paved shoulders on either side of the roadway within existing ROW. Roadway and shoulder widening would extend from the centerline of the roadway and the proposed rehabilitation efforts would follow the alignment of the existing roadway, with minor shifts in the vertical and horizontal road alignment. North of the BNSF railway crossing the road would be slightly adjusted to align itself with the future reconstructed Daggett Road Bridge. South of the railway the road would follow its traditional alignment to tie in with the improved Daggett Road/SR-4 intersection. Daggett Road would also be resurfaced to repair the current deteriorated condition of the road and roadside drainage ditches would be graded and reconstructed as necessary. The paved roadway width would be consistent with City design guidelines for roadways experiencing less than 1,500 trips per day.
