Document Description
The purpose of the Vernal Pool Creation and Preservation Project is to meet the mitigation requirements associated with the upgrading of State Route 149 to a four-lane expressway and construction of interchanges at the existing State Route 70/149 and State Route 99/149 intersections in Butte County. To offset the highway improvement project impacts to existing vernal pool habitat, the proposed mitigation project will preserve, enhance, create, restore, and protect for perpetuity a sufficient number of acres as set forth in the issuance of Permit #199700165 through the United States Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
