The proposed project expansion area is designated as Commercial Office, however, the existing WWTP is designated Public Facilities of the City of Imperial General Plan.
Document Description
The proposed project consists of upgrading the City's existing waste water treatment plant facility, located at the northeast corner of 14th Street and N Street, within the City of Imperial. The District propose (1) modifications to the existing headworks; (2) installation of a packaged lift station(s) and appurtenant piping; (3) installation of an extended aeration/activated sludge basin with integral clarifier treatment system, including a separate building to house the blowers; (4) removing the existing Trojan UV3000 disinfection system replacing it with a higher output and more efficient UV system; (5) construction of 10 additional sludge-drying beds, and (6) upgrading the existing electrical equipment, as necessary. This expansion will occur on approximately 6.56 acres of vacant land owned by the City, directly north of the existing WWTP.
