Document Description
The proposed project consists of a specific plan to allow the development of 2,572 acres located north of the I-10 Freeway in the northeast corner of the City of Coachella within Riverside County as a master-planned residential community. As proposed, the Desert Lakes Specific Plan would allow the development of compact residential neighborhoods of varying densities encircling a Town Center along with supporting commercial and community facilities, including community parks, lakes, golf courses, schools, pedestrian paseos, bicycle paths, recreation areas and natural open space. The proposed Specific Plan would allow the development of a maximum of 7,300 residential units. In addition to considering adoption of the specific plan, the City of Coachella will also consider approval of related discretionary actions, including a General Plan Amendment, Zone Change, Development Agreement, and a large lot Tentative Tract Map.
