Document Description
DTSC conducted a visual inspection and investigated historic use of the 81 acre parcel in conjunction with an environmental site assessment conducted by Techalloy. It was determined that no chemicals either from Techalloy operations or from historic farming activities have been used, stored or disposed of on this 81 acre parcel. As a result of this environmental site assessment, Techalloy issued a RCRA Facility Assessment Addendum documenting the history of the parcel and its environmental conduction. Based on its review of the Addendum and its knowledge of the site's condition, U.S. EPA, as the lead agency for corrective action, issued a Letter of No Further Interest stating that is neither plans nor anticipates pursuing any corrective action at the 81-acre parcel. The 81 acres are to be set aside for possible sale as residential development property.

Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15301
Reasons for Exemption
1. The project is minor in nature and represents the removal of one parcel of land from the permitted facility and the revision of the facility boundary. The facility is located in an industrial area that does not contain either cultural resources or protected habitats. The division of the property is in conformance with the Riverside County General Plan. The facility processes wastewater under the jurisdiction of the County of Riverside within a building two hundred feet south of the proposed property line, which separates the facility from any future residential development. 2. The proposed removal of the parcel does not alter any Hazardous Waste Facility Permit conditions or reduce the ability of Techalloy to protect human health or the environment or preclude any corrective action at the Techalloy facility.
