The project involves updating existing pedestrian ramps and signals to meet current Sacramento County and American Disabilities Act requirements at all corners of the intersection. New pedestrian signal heads as well as audible signal equipment and push buttons will be installed. Three new 7 foot 1B poles will be installed to accommodate the new equipment. Existing pedestrian push buttons and pedestrian signal heads will be updated to meet current Sacramento County and ADA requirements. About 70 feet of existing curb, gutter, and sidewalk will be reconstructed to meet SacDOT's 11 foot minimum lane width standard but with no reconfiguration of vehicular striping.
The proposed project consists of the on-site replacement of existing facilities (ramps, signals, and sidewalks) involving negligible expansion of capacity, will not include the removal or disturbance of any native trees or other biological resources, and is therefore exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
