Document Description
The proposed project is located within Reach 9, just south of the Town of Freeport. The permanent floodwall would vary in height between 6-inches and 3-foot, be constructed of reinforced concrete, and located on top of the levee, on property owned by the California Railway Museum.
The closure structure is a stop log structure comprising "H" piles and wood planks; sections of pipe are set vertically in the ground and used to hold the "H" piles. The planks would be used to connect the "H" piles and complete the closure structure. The "H" piles and wood planks would be stored off-site and only installed when the Sacramento River is projected to reach flood stage. The pipe sections would be installed and capped with removable covers.
