Claybank Adult Detention Facility
Document Type
NOP - Notice of Preparation of a Draft EIR

Document Description
The Detention facility's current design and layout do not meet State of California Board of Corrections standards. Facility deficiencies include undersized day rooms, obstructed visual surveillance, inadequate medical facilities, non-compliance with disabled access requirements, and numerous leaks in the roof. The proposed expansion of the Claybank Adult Detention Facility is a two-phased project that would be built between 2008 and 2025. The EIR will provide project-level analysis of Phase I; however, because Phase II is still in initial planning stages, the EIR will evaluate this phase as part of the cumulative analysis. Subsequent environmental review for Phase II may be required at a later date.
