Document Description
The project would annex 164 acres of land contiguous to Butte Water District. The District has historically supplied irrigation water to the Mutz parcels under annual surplus water contracts. In recent years, the District has also supplied water to the Sheppard parcels on the same basis. Formerly, the Sheppard parcels were irrigated from wells. It is anticipated that the Mutz parcels, consisting of approximately 40 acres, will be planted to pasture and/or alfalfa crops. It is anticipated that the Sheppard parcel, consisting of approximately 124 acres, will be planted to rice. However, once annexed, the lands will be eligible to receive water for other crops at the landowners' discretion.
