Document Description
The proposed project includes the construction of a full-service interchange where La Mesa Road to the east and Nisqualli Road to the west currently terminate at I-15. A two-span over-crossing will convey six lanes of local street traffic over I-15. Existing frontage roads (Amargosa Road on the west and Mariposa Road on the east) will be relocated away from I-15 to accommodate the implementation of interchange ramps on approximately 10.93 acres of Mohave ground squirrel habitat. The Project will result in permanent impacts to 10.93 acres of Mohave ground squirrel habitat. Project-related impacts are expected to result in the take of Mohave ground squirrel, a species protected by the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). DFG is issuing the CESA incidental take permit referenced above as a responsible agency under the California Environmental Quality ACT (CEQA).
