Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Section 15302(a)
Reasons for Exemption
The State CEQA Guidelines, Section 15302(a) provides for the replacement or reconstruction of existing school structures to provide earthquake resistant structures. The new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replacement and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced. Construction of the proposed pre-fabricated building, walkway and canopy meet the criteria. Construction activities would be of minimal scope and duration. Archaeological monitoring would prevent the destruction of cultural resources, in the unlikely event that they should be uncovered. Project construction and operation would not have a significant effect on the environment.
