Document Description
The applicant proposes to repair/restore the stream banks by establishing a willow thicket above the ordinary high water mark by removing existing riprap rock revetments, modifying slopes to support native vegetation by filling rock interstices with a mixture of soil and gravel to establish root areas, plant native riparian species. Plants will be watered by a temporary drip irrigation system through the summer; non-native invasive species will be removed where feasible. Removal of riprap will be performed with a long reach excavator on the top of the stream bank while biotechnical slope stabilization and riparian enhancement work will be performed by hand and/or small equipment. A temporary sandbag sediment basin will be installed along the bedrock outcrop below the work area to catch debris during removal of the riprap, placement of bioengineering materials, and installation of soil and plants where riprap is not removed. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2006-0125-3 pursuant to Section 1602.
