Document Description
The California Department of Transportation is proposing to improve the safety along SR-36 in Tehama County at Post Mile 15.2-15.8 where there is a higher than average occurence of accidents. The proposed design will reduce the number and severity of accidents by replacing a 230 foot curve with a tangent section, four foot shoulders will be constructed to increase the clear recovery area, and adjacent cuts slopes will be laid back to improve the vertical sight distance for stopping. One culvert will be placed in the new tangent section and the existing four-foot culvert in the ephemeral drainage will be extended beyond the clear recovery area 20 feet.
