Work involved includes the following: removing existing pedestrian/bicycle bridge and associated abutments and retaining walls and placing new bridge, abutments, and retaining walls in vacated area, pruning of existing riparian vegetation, as well as temporary installation of a sandbag dam in order to isolate the northerly footing during construction. Approximately 160 linear feet of Novato Creek's streambed, 64-square feet of wetland vegetation, and a limited amount riparian habitat will be impacted by this project. The Department of Fish and Game is issuing a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2006-0065-3 pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
