Document Description
Project is catchment area creation on SR 253 at KP 1.8/2.1 (PM 1.1/1.3) be realigning the roadway to the south of existing roadway. Purpose: to capture landslide materials during wet weather, to eliminate roadway hazard as well as traffic delays during clean up by maintenance crews. The proposed new right of way = approx. 315 square meters.

The proposed safety project is initiated by Caltrans Maintenance due to having to repeatedly close the road from the hillside falling on the road. The proposed moving of this portion of the highway has no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination.
