Document Description
The project consists of modernizing the St. Helena Hospital in four to five phases over the next 20-25 years. The first phase, which is the only phase being analyzed by this document, includes constructing a new two-story 24,000 sf outpatient services/cancer center, building an approximately 4,400 sf 400 kw fuel cell or micro turbine cogeneration power plant, and a 1,200 sf chiller plant. Approximately 114 new parking spaces will be provided along Hillcrest Road, east of the hospital. A shuttle service will provide access from the parking areas to the hospital buildings. Approximately 89 of the new parking spaces will be temporary until the parking structure included in the second phase is completed. Two existing buildings totaling 1,705 sf would be demolished to accommodate the new outpatient services building/cancer center. The new outpatient services/cancer center building will tie into the third and fourth floors of the existing ancillary building, due to the topography of the site, and will be located behind the main hospital.
