The project will expand the Waterman Water Treatment Plant from its current peak capacity of about 15 million gallons per day to a peak capacity of 30 million gallons per day. The project will include construction of a new high rate sedimentation process, wash water equalization basins, waste wash water pump station, sludge clarifiers, sludge lagoon, chemical feed and storage building, and zone 3 pump station/blower building. The project will also include expansion of the existing ozone contact basin and filters and miscellaneous site improvements. The project site is designated Public Facilities on the City's General Plan and also has a corresponding Public Facilities zoning district designation.
