This project proposes to renovate and modernize and make minor increases to 21 year-old Science/Art Labs, Library, offices and Classrooms. The project would replace inefficient heating systems, alarm systems, safety hoods and associated systems; allow spaces to be accessible by all students. By renovating these systems, the College would be able to comply with both the ADA and clean air requirements. We would reconfigure and in some cases slightly increase the space to allow for a more flexible instructional space in the labs and classrooms. This project would also allow us to extend the infrastructure giving us the ability to provide data and computerized resources now lacking in all classrooms and labs.
The project was determined to be a "minor" addition to the present campus for CEQA purposes in that it will not increase the original student capacity of the college by either more than 25% or 10 classrooms.
