Document Description
The proposed project would upgrade and expand wastewater treatment capacity at the District's WWTP to 5.0 million gallons per day (MGD) from its current capacity of 1.8 MGD average dry weather flow (ADWF). The District has available approximately 22 acres at its WWTP site to accommodate the construction of proposed facilities. The District anticipates approximately 15 acres of the available space would be needed for the proposed facilities. All of the plant improvements would occur within the District's property adjacent to or on the existing WWTP site. In addition to the increase in treatment capacity, the proposed improvements would raise the level of treatment from "secondary" to "tertiary". The treatment process being considered is an activated sludge system with extended solids detention, followed by tertiary filtration and chlorine disinfection.
