Document Description
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) proposes to construct upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) at the Centinela State Prison to improve operating capability and meet facility wastewater treatment needs. The project includes construction of new headworks, a new sludge drying bed and stockpile pad up to 100,000 square feet (approximately 2.5 acres), replacement of mechanical aerators, reconfiguration of inlet and outlet piping in the aeration ponds, conversion from gaseous chlorine/gaseous sulfur dioxide to liquid sodium hypochlorate/sodium bisulfate for disinfection, and associated electrical control center and yard paving.
