The site was purchased by the County as surplus Caltrans property at the intersection of Burton Mesa Boulevard and Harris Grade Road. The site lies in an "Unlimited Agriculture" area but they are residential neighborhoods/zoning nearby.
Relocate the County Fire and Sheriff Department staff and support facilities from the existing site at 749 Burton Mesa Boulevard to a new 15,000 square foot building at the intersection of Burton Mesa Boulevard and Harris Grade Road. The project includes annexation into the Mission Hills Community Services District (CSD) and a possible General Plan Amendment to show the site as containing a "Public Facility."
